SEASON 7: SETTING THE STAGE FOR SUCCESS!

Welcome to THE NEWMAN Dance Center’s 2026–2027 Season!

We are SO excited to welcome our dancers. tumblers, and aerialists back to THE NEWMAN and to kick off another amazing season together!

Before classes begin, please take a few minutes to read through this email in full. It contains important policies, reminders, and dates that will help our season run smoothly and safely for all of our dancers and families.

 ACTION REQUIRED: MANDATORY RELEASE FORM

If your dancer has never danced with us before, we MUST have a completed release form on file before they can participate in class.

Our lobbies will be especially busy during the first few weeks of the season, so completing this ahead of time will help us get everyone into class safely and on time. The form takes less than 2 minutes to complete.

Students will not be permitted to enter class without an updated release form.

 HIP HOP CLASS NOTICE

Because of our specialty dance floors and our commitment to keeping our studio clean, NO SHOES THAT HAVE BEEN WORN OUTDOORS may be worn inside our dance studios.

For Hip Hop, please plan to:

  • Purchase a pair of sneakers that are ONLY worn inside the studio. If they do not have indoor street shoes for class, they will be required to dance barefoot.

We will check shoes daily.

 AERIAL CLASS NOTICE: NO JEWELRY

For the safety of our aerialists and our equipment, ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY IS PERMITTED IN ANY AERIAL CLASS.

Even the smallest piece of jewelry can snag our equipment, potentially making it unsafe to use. Jewelry can also become caught during aerial movements and cause injury to the dancer.

We will check for jewelry before every aerial class, and we take this policy very seriously because it directly impacts the safety of our program.

Please have dancers remove ALL jewelry BEFORE entering the studio to prevent items from being lost.

This includes:

  • Necklaces

  • Anklets

  • Bracelets

  • Rings

  • Earrings

  • Body Piercings not covered by clothing

We cannot be responsible for jewelry that is lost or left behind after class.

 DROP-OFF, PICK-UP & PARENT SUPERVISION

Please be sure to review these policies with any babysitters, nannies, or au pairs who may be bringing your dancer to THE NEWMAN.

To keep our studio safe and our lobbies manageable:

DROP-OFF:
Dancers may not be dropped off more than 10 minutes before their first class.

PICK-UP:
Dancers must be picked up no more than 5 minutes after their final class ends.

If your dancer is in the last class of the evening, we kindly ask that you arrive ON TIME for pick-up.

Dancers ages 7+:
Dancers ages 7 and older may remain at the studio without a parent/guardian ONLY while they are in class or during a scheduled break. During breaks, they must remain quietly in a designated waiting room.

Dancers under age 7:
Dancers under 7 must have an adult at the studio with them at all times and may not remain unsupervised in any waiting room.

Dancers ages 6 and under — bathroom:
Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied to the bathroom by their parent/guardian.

We also kindly ask that you review appropriate bathroom behavior with your dancers. Our bathrooms are shared spaces, and we ask everyone to be courteous and respectful of others.

 TOY & PLAY SPACE

We have a toy corner in our parent lobby for dancers and siblings to enjoy before and during classes! Because this is a shared community space, we ask that families please clean up the toys their children have played with before leaving the studio each day.

Thank you for helping us keep this space welcoming and enjoyable for everyone!

 GENERAL HEALTH CONSENT

Please take a moment to review the Health Consent you agreed to when registering.

Our aerial, acro, and dance programs involve significant movement and heavy breathing in close quarters. To help protect our dancers, their peers, and our faculty, we require all families to follow our sick policies.

REVIEW THE NEWMAN HEALTH CONSENT & SICK POLICY

If your dancer is sick, please keep them home and follow the health guidelines outlined in the consent form.

 FOOD AT THE NEWMAN

To keep our shared spaces clean and enjoyable for everyone:

ALL FOOD MUST BE CONSUMED IN THE CAFE LOBBY ONLY.

The Cafe Lobby is located to the left of the front desk and includes tables and chairs specifically for eating.

Please do not eat in the large parent viewing lobbies or other areas of the studio.

The Cafe is intended to give our dancers a place to fuel their bodies before class and during breaks. Because it is the only designated eating space, we kindly ask that parents do not set up computers or work stations in the Cafe.

If you would like to work while your dancer is in class, small computer trays are available in the large parent waiting room.

Only water is permitted inside the dance studios.

 THE NEWMAN SNACK SHACK

Our Snack Shack is available for dancers, parents, and siblings to purchase a variety of snacks and drinks.

We accept cash and Venmo at the Snack Shack.

 PEANUT-FREE SPACE

Due to severe allergies, THE NEWMAN is a peanut-free space. We cannot allow food containing peanuts anywhere in the studio.

We truly appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for our dancers and staff.
