THE NEWMAN Dance Center

Aerial Dance (specific) Protocols

  • All students and instructors are required to wear masks/face coverings per Governor Hogan's orders.

  • Due to CDC Guidelines, all students are required to use their own equipment in the studio. Students are required to purchase their own aerial set packs. These set packs consist of the basic setup for aerial silks/fabrics. (Aerial silks/fabric and one aerial-8 or rescue-8.) *Students 10 and under should have 13 yards of silks/fabric and students 11 and over should have 17 yards of silks/fabric. Please email Brooke@thenewmandancecenter.com for information on where to purchase your aerial set pack.

  • Siblings/family that are living in the same location and sharing items already, are permitted to purchase and share 1 silk/fabric.

  • THE NEWMAN Faculty will attach your silks/fabric to your aerial-8. If for some reason you would like to wash your silk/fabric, please see instructors for hardware removal and washing instructions. There will be a $15 re-rigging charge for the reattachment of your silk/fabric to your aerial-8.

  • Aerial instructors will teach students how to daisy chain their silk/fabric so that they can be safely transported.

  • Students must transport their silks/fabric to and from class in a bag.

  • Each student will have their own mat during class. Each mat will be sterilized in between classes.

  • Spotting will be hands off unless absolutely necessary. Instructors will sanitize multiple times throughout class in case there becomes a necessary need for hands on spotting.

  • Your qualified instructors will rig and de-rig all aerial equipment to pre rigged aerial points at the start and end of each class. Instructors will sanitize hands before rigging and de-rigging.

  • All students/parents/guardians will need to read and sign our Aerial Equipment Agreement prior to the start of their first class.
